Numbering Your Students
See Technique #1 in this FREE resource along with many other tried and true suggestions. I used the first technique in this free resource in my classroom by numbering my students. It worked across grades primary to high school, and it made my life so much easier.

I used numbers for many things throughout the day as well to bring in some math skills and to form different groups to shake up the classroom dynamics just a bit.

Examples – All the odds equal to and greater than seven can line up from least to greatest. All the numbers between 7 and 11 can line up and so on.

For grouping – I might have all the odds find a partner then the evens. The list goes on and on, and even the students started to create them as well.
